Sustainable Rudgwick
Minutes Wednesday 20th January 2010

Present:

Warming Rudgwick:  
Helen confirmed that Secretts are happy for us to have the stand there - planned for w/c 8/3/10 - (preferably fri or sat)
Editorial to be drafted for inclusion in Parish Magazine for March - Helen
Posters to be sighted at Co-op, Secretts and Parish notice boards - (to be agreed with Barbara Kenwood)
Ensure that surveys are personally addressed to householders - Helen
Flyers from HDC to other local groups - Helen to speak to Gill @ HDC
Target groups - over 60's
Lifeline - could they help to bring interested parties down to Secretts?
Secretts to trail on their blackboard - Helen
 
Schools:
Jenny Gue (Rudgwick Primary School) to be contacted following her holiday - Carol
 
Budget Submission & other funding requests:
No response from Rudgwick as yet.
Other avenues - Lottery "Awards For All", HDC start up schemes, Co-op Community Funds, Sussex Community Groups.
No other approaches to be made until we have had reply from Parish Council.
Cheque book/credit book now rec'd from bank for Sustainable Rudgwick.
 
Transport Panel:
Heather attended meeting at Jubilee Hall on 4th Jan 2010.
3 new members including Heather. Various topics discussed including speeding, parking restrictions, dangerous junctions, pavements, wobbly bridge, public transport.
We could work with PC on public transport issue..
SR were very welcome on committee.
Next meeting in Jubilee Hall on 1st March 2010 - Phil to attend.
 
Annual Parish Meeting 8th March 2010:
PC wants to involve local groups in meeting.
Check with Barbara Kenwood what is expected, who else is attending - James

Parish Council showed interest but we need to get more idea of their intent from BK - James
Links to be added from SR website to Parish Council and Rudgwick Forum - James
Rudgwick Forum (set up by Peter Tanner) links to be sent to our members - Heather
 
Windacres:
There were a few considered objections including issues around the access road & strain on utilities.
Parish Council not currently happy and will be submitting a report back to HDC.
Many positive sustainable ideas within the current plan - i.e.composting, bike stores
 
Earth Hour 27th March 2010:
What could Rudgwick do to mark this international event?
SR to approach Social Club - Carol
SR to approach scouts & youth club - James
 
"The Age of Stupid:
We could have a viewing of this and then arrange a public showing in the village - James
 
Energy Game:
We will try it as a group then look to arranging a larger event within the village - James
 
Lightbulb Library:
A possible purchase for us when we receive funding.
 
Battery Drops:
To put glass jars at pubs and social club for batteries to be collected and taken to recycling facility - Helen
 
Membership:
We need to consider how to encourage others to come to our meetings - Heather
